Mountain West Announces Women's Swimmer & Diver of the Week - November 14, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior Morgan Hartigan and Nevada junior Grace Huang have earned Mountain West Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors, respectively, for meets contested from Nov. 5-11, 2012. It is the second Mountain West honor in the last three weeks for Huang and the first ever for Hartigan.
Hartigan, a product of Cheyenne, Wyo., placed first in three individual events and a relay as the Cowgirls beat Air Force, 189.5-110.5, on Nov. 10. Hartigan posted an MW season-best time of 51.61 in the 100-yard freestyle for the victory. Her winning times in the 50-yard freestyle (23.70) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.27) currently rank third in the Mountain West this season. Hartigan opened the meet by swimming the second leg of the 400-yard medley relay. The Cowgirls' team-winning time of 3:52.47 ranks fourth in the MW.
Huang, who hails from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, assisted the Wolf Pack to 160.5-139.5 win over New Mexico on Nov. 10. Huang won both springboard competitions, improving her NCAA Zone qualifying marks in each event. She posted a mark of 322.43 in the 1-meter springboard and a 330.75 in the 3-meter springboard. Her 1-meter score ranks second in the MW this season, while her 3-meter mark is third.
