COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brigham Young University senior Amanda Grant and New Mexico sophomore Becca Barras have been named Mountain West Conference women's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Grant, a Moses Lake, Wash., product, raced to two individual victories and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team, helping the Cougars to wins over San Diego State and Northern Arizona in Albuquerque, N.M. on November 7. She started the meet winning the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 2:11.26 and 2:22.91, respectively. Grant completed the meet by being part of the winning 200-medley relay team, posting a time of 1:49.97.

Grant followed up her Thursday performance by placing second in both the 100 (1:06.09) and 200-yard (2:22.45) breastroke at the Lobo Invitational on November 8-9. She also placed third in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley events in 2:11.91 and 4:45.77, respectively. Grant completed the six-team meet by being part of the winning 800-yard freestyle relay (7:52.56), 200 (1:49.72) and 400-yard (3:58.42) medley relay teams.

Barras, a native of Kitchner, Ontario, won the 1-meter and finished third in the 3-meter diving events in a triple dual meet November 7. On the 1-meter, she posted a score of 277.95, while her score of 250.15 was good for third overall on the 3-meter.

Barras followed up her Thursday performance by winning the 1-meter (275.50) and capturing second place in the 3-meter (466.55) diving events at the Lobo Invitational November 8-9. Her first place 1-meter finish on Nov. 7 and her second place 3-meter finish on Nov. 8-9 were both personal best's for Barras this year.
