COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU sophomore Brittany Davis and New Mexico senior Becca Barras have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively. This is the third career honor for Davis and the 11th for Barras.

Davis helped the Cougars to a 3-0 record in dual meets and a win at the Lobo Invitational last week, collecting five first-place finishes and two second-place finishes. In a four-way dual meet against New Mexico, San Diego State and Northern Arizona, she posted wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.88) and 500-yard freestyle (5:04.37), while swimming the last leg of the second-place 200-yard freestyle relay squad (1:38.01). At the Lobo Invite, Davis claimed individual victories in the 500 free (5:03.23) and 100-yard backstroke (59.29). She also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.05) and the 200 free (1:56.36).

Barras won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in a four-way dual vs. BYU, San Diego State and Northern Arizona and at the Lobo Invite to remain undefeated this season. She started the week posting scores of 258.75 in the 3-meter board and 259.75 in the 1-meter board in the four-way dual. She followed by scoring 482.90 in the 3-meter event and 250.75 in the 1-meter event at the Lobo Invite to end her weekend.
