COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU seniors Jeffrey Mason and Aaron Russell have been named Mountain West Conference men's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Mason, a Mesa, Ariz., native raced to two individual victories and was part of the winning freestyle relay team, helping the Cougars to a dual meet win over in-state rival Utah on Nov. 1. He started the meet winning the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events in 46.00 and 1:41.67, respectively. Mason completed the meet by anchoring BYU's 400-yard freestyle relay team to victory, posting a time of 3:03.51.

Russell, a product of Provo, Utah, swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against Utah. In the 1-meter, he posted a score of 347.60, and his score of 290.40 topped the field in the 3-meter. He bested the second place finisher in the one-meter by 81 points.
