COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Chris Knaute and BYU senior Scott Randall have been named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. This is the first career weekly honor for Knaute and the third for Randall.

Knaute, a Houston, Texas, native, won three individual events and finished second in two individual events as the Falcons compiled a 4-1 record last week. On Thursday vs. Denver, he was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle (4:39.41) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:52.12) and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.65). He followed with first-place times of 4:57.65 in the 500 free and 9:42.81 in the 1000 free (a pool record), and a second-place time of 1:58.58 in the 200-yard individual medley in a five-way meet at Colorado College on Friday.

Randall, a Mesa, Ariz., product, won both diving competitions in BYU's dual meet win over Notre Dame last week. He turned in a score of 274.57 in the 1-meter dive, and scored 332.47 in the 3-meter dive, helping the Cougars to the 153-144 comeback victory.
