COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Lauren White and New Mexico senior Becca Barras have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively. This is the first career weekly honor for White and the 10th for Barras.

White, an Elizabethtown, Pa., product, helped Air Force to a 3-1 record at the Sun Belt Classic in Las Cruces, N.M. last week, with three individual first-place finishes, along with a second and third-place individual finish. On Friday, she started the meet clocking a career-best mark of 10:26.25 in the 1000-yard freestyle (seventh fastest time in AFA history), and followed with a victory in the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.67). White concluded her first day of competition with a third-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley (4:46.71). She began the final day of competition with another 500 free victory (5:12.10) and followed with a second-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, clocking in at 17:55.56.

Barras, from Kitchener, Ontario, swept both diving events in a dual-meet vs. Wyoming and at the Early Bird Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., last week. Against Wyoming, she tallied a score of 261.00 in the 1-meter and a score of 288.60 in the 3-meter. At the Early Bird Invite, Barras scored 253.80 in the 1-meter and 421.15 in the 3-meter, completing her weekend sweep.
