COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force Academy senior Tyler Paige and University of Wyoming junior Oscar Delgado have been selected as the 2000-2001 season's first Mountain West Conference men's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

At the Early Bird Invitational in Ft. Collins, Colo., Oct. 21, Paige won the 50- and 100-meter freestyle races with times of 20.99 and 46.84, respectively. The Littleton, Colo., native's time in the 50 freestyle is currently the 9th fastest in Air Force school history. In addition to his individual victories, Paige was also a member of the Falcon's winning 200- and 400-meter freestyle relay team. His efforts contributed 54 points for the Falcon squad that scored 250 points over 2nd-place conference rival Wyoming.

Delgado, a native of Covina, Calif., swept both the 1- and 3-meter springboard events at the Early Bird Invitational. The junior's two individual victories contributed to the five total victories by the Cowboys and he is currently the MWC top diver in both events. His efforts on the board helped the Cowboy's finish second overall out of eight teams.
