UNLV Picked to Win Mountain West Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Title; BYU Tabbed on Women's Side

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV is favored to win the 2008-09 Mountain West Conference regular-season title in men's swimming and diving, while BYU has been selected to capture the women's crown as voted on by the league's head coaches.

UNLV collected three first-place votes and a total of 23 points to capture the top spot in the men's poll. BYU also received three first-place nods and totaled 21 points for second place, while Wyoming claimed third position with 18 points and Utah landed in fourth with 12 points. Air Force notched 11 points and was chosen fifth, while TCU was picked sixth with five points.

On the women's side, BYU received seven first-place votes and garnered 63 points to capture first-place acclaim, while Utah collected the other first-place vote to tie with UNLV for second with 54 points apiece. Wyoming claimed the fourth spot with 42 points, while Colorado State was picked fifth with 34 points and TCU was sixth with 28 points. San Diego State (24 points), New Mexico (17 points) and Air Force (eight points) rounded out the poll finishing seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.
