MWC Swimming and Diving Polls Released Coaches select BYU to bring home men's and women's regular-season titles
Sept. 29, 2004 Colorado Springs, Colo. - BYU is favored to win this year's Mountain West Conference regular-season titles in men's and women's swimming and diving as selected by the league's head coaches. BYU collected four first place votes and a total of 16 points to capture the top spot in the men's poll. UNLV totaled 11 points for second place, while Utah claimed third place with 10 points. Wyoming received the final first place nod as it totaled seven points in claiming fourth place, while Air Force (five points) was picked fifth. On the women's side, the Cougars received six first place votes and gathered a score of 48 points to capture the top spot in the poll. UNLV collected a first place vote and was predicted to finish second with 39 points. Colorado State claimed the third spot with 37 points, while Utah tallied a first place vote and was picked fourth with 36 points. Wyoming settled in at fifth place with 24 points and New Mexico claimed sixth with 19 points, while San Diego State (11) and Air Force (10) rounded out the poll finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
