ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico women's swimming and diving head coaches Tracy Ljone and Abel Sanchez have announced the signing of eight swimmers and six divers to the 2005-06 team. Five divers and three swimmers originate from New Mexico.

"We have a fantastic bunch of ladies joining us this Fall, both in and out of the water," Ljone said. "They are great students, great athletes and great people. We have brought in a some really good all around swimmers and believe they will have an immediate impact on the team. Many of them should be able to score their freshman year at our Conference Championships! We look forward to getting under way this August."

"I am excited to work with the incoming athletes," Sanchez said. "We had a great 2005-06 season and we are going to work even harder this year. We recruited locally and had a lot of local interest due to the success of last year."
