SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's and women's swimming and diving teams saw nine of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference today, recognizing them with the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Honored were: Andrew Brown, Fr., 3.75, Undeclared; Jorge Amorim, Sr., 3.82, Biology; Meghan Demchuk, So., 3.58, Business; Kiera Higbee, Fr., 3.64, Undeclared; Marissa Martin, So., 3.87, Undeclared; Alison McInturff, So., 3.54, Biology; Amber Walker, Jr., 3.56, Exercise and Sport Science; Loren Sweny, Jr., 3.68, Psychology; Lisa Wight, Fr., 3.79, Exercise and Sport Science.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have competed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
