SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah swimming and diving team saw 24 of its student-athletes honored by the Mountain West Conference as they were named to the league's academic all-conference team today.
The women's swimming and diving team had 14 members honored while the men's team saw 10.
Leading the way for the swimmers was Tanner Folster. The sophomore biology major recorded a 3.97 grade-point average. On the women's side, Marissa Martin's 3.90 led the way. She's a junior human development and family studies major.
A total of 731 student-athletes league-wide were named to the team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team
