SALT LAKE CITY - Michelle Blair of Orlando, Fla., has signed a national letter of intent with the University of Utah women's swimming team. Blair is the final addition to head coach Michael Litzinger's 2004 recruiting class.

Blair was a National High School All-American and the Florida state runner-up in the 100 fly in 2001 and '02. She also set the Florida state Catholic high school record in the 100 fly. In the 100 backstroke, Blair placed third at the 2002 Florida state meet.

Blair sat out the 2003-04 college season to focus on training. She graduated from Bishop Moore Catholic High School and made the Dean's List in 2002 and '03. Michelle is the daughter of Michael and Juanita Blair. She is undecided on a major.

"Michelle is the icing on the cake in terms of our '04 recruiting class," said Litzinger. "She is a wonderful individual and will certainly help Utah continue to be a presence in the Mountain West."
