For the second consecutive year, the University of Wyoming men's and women's swimming and diving team was recently selected as an Academic All-America team by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.

The Cowgirls tied for the 24th highest team GPA in the nation with the Ohio State University, as each achieved an average of 3.27. Their GPA was the second highest in the Mountain West Conference behind BYU, who achieved the 22nd highest mark of 3.30.

The Cowboys achieved a combined GPA of 2.93, which is the 38th highest in the nation. The Pokes' mark is the third highest in the MWC behind BYU (3.02) and Utah (2.97).

"I am very proud of our team. This is a great achievement that can be attributed to the great work ethic of our kids in and out of the water," said UW head coach Tom Johnson. "I am really pleased with the improvement of our girls and that they surpassed their academic goals from the beginning of the season. To be ranked in the top-25 of the country is something to be very proud of. While the men came up a little short of where they finished last year, they still had a solid GPA and excelled in the classroom this year."

Yale achieved the highest Division I men's GPA as they combined for a mark of 3.42. Eastern Michigan's women achieved the highest women's GPA in the nation at 3.56.
