LARAMIE, Wyo. -

As has become tradition at the University of Wyoming, both the Cowgirl and Cowboy swimming and diving teams were recently selected as Academic All-America teams for the fall semester by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.

"Our kids did a great job in the classroom this past fall and deserve this honor," said UW swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson. "This is a tribute to how hard our student-athletes work on their academics and I am very proud of them."

A total of 335 teams from 221 institutions earned Academic All-America Team Honors this season. To qualify, a team must average a 2.80 grade point average for a given semester. The Cowgirls achieved an especially high 3.106 grade point average.
