Scott Usher to Compete at 2004 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Usher, a Grand Island, Neb. native will compete in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

University of Wyoming junior Scott Usher will compete in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events at the 2004 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, March 25-27 in East Meadow, N.Y. The championships will be held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. Usher, a Grand Island, Neb. native will compete in the 100 breaststroke event on Friday, March 26 and the 200 breaststroke on Saturday, March 27. Preliminary action will begin at noon and finals are slated to begin at 7 p.m., ET. According to collegeswimming.com, Usher swam the fastest 100 breaststroke time in the nation, 53.75, at the 2004 Mountain West Conference Championships. His time of 1:56.59 is the second fastest 200 breaststroke time in the nation this season. At the 2003 NCAA Championships, Usher placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.05, earning All-American status. He also placed 15th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.75.
