ATLANTA - TCU senior diver Kelly McCain capped off a standout career by placing 32nd on the 3-meter springboard Friday at the 2006 NCAA Men's Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga. On Thursday, the native of Corpus Christi, Texas, placed 23rd on the 1-meter with a score of 273.30.

McCain, a first-team all-Mountain West Conference performer and two-time MWC Diver of the Week in 2005-06, scored a 249.25 over six dives. His average score was a 41.54, and his best effort was a 55.50 on his next-to-last dive.

The first Horned Frog male diver to ever qualify for the NCAA Championships, McCain was making his second straight appearance at the national meet. In addition, he leaves TCU as the school record holder in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
