Hesselberg completes first day of NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Sophomore diver places 30th in one-meter event
March 15, 2007 MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - TCU sophomore diver R.J. Hesselberg completed the first of three days at the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Hesselberg, a native of Saskatoon, Canada, posted a score of 262.90 in six dives in the one-meter preliminary event to place 30th. The top eight divers of the preliminaries automatically qualified to the finals, while the next eight moved on to the consolation round.
Hesselberg will participate in the three-meter diving event on Friday beginning at 1:30 p.m. (CST). The sophomore posted a season high three-meter score of 331.58 in a win against Utah, which was the fifth-highest score in TCU history in the event.
