The University of New Mexico, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Mountain West Conference (MWC), is currently soliciting nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Head Women's Swimming and Diving Coach. This will be a fulltime position reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Compliance. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and three to five years of directly related experience. The head coach is responsible for building and maintaining a competitive Division I swimming and diving program. Specific duties include but are not limited to: coaching the team in all practices and meets; Scheduling all contests; Managing a budget; Maintaining compliance to all UNM, MWC, and NCAA rules; Participating in marketing, fundraising, and public relations initiatives; Recruiting prospective student athletes capable of achieving academic and athletic success; Establishing a culture within the program that fosters the personal, academic, and athletic development of all members of the team. Preferences will be given to candidates with: coaching experience in a successful Division I swimming program; Recruiting for NCAA qualified student athletes in the Southwest, including Texas and California; Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as demonstrated in resume and through successful completion of NCAA coaching test; Experience developing and overseeing weight training programs for student athletes; Experience and ability to work with diverse populations.
