Feb. 6, 2013
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior Morgan Hartigan and New Mexico sophomore Michole Timm have earned Mountain West Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors, respectively, for meets contested from Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2013. It is the third Conference weekly accolade for Hartigan this season and the second for Timm, third of her career. Hartigan, a native of Cheyenne, Wyo., won three individual events and swam on a second-place relay team to lead the Cowgirls to a road victory over UNLV (151-149) on Feb. 2. Hartigan was the only Cowgirl to win three events, including the 200-yard individual medley that sealed the Wyoming win. She swam a time of 2:03.43 in the event. Hartigan won the freestyle sprints with a 23.48 in the 50-yard race and a 50.75 in the 100-yard swim. She swam the lead leg of the 200-yard medley relay with a team time of 1:45.08. Timm, who hails from Sauk Rapids, Minn., captured first place in the 1-meter springboard and 3-meter springboard events as the Lobos beat New Mexico State, 178.5-121.5, on Feb. 2. Timm scored a 296.18 off the 3-meter board and a 300.90 off the 1-meter. Both marks qualify Timm for the NCAA Diving Zones in March.
