COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State freshman Emily Schmied and BYU senior Kelli Einfeldt have been named Mountain West Conference women's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Schmied, a Woodinville, Wash., native, swam to individual victories in the 100-yard butterfly (59.24) and 200-yard individual medley (2:10.27) events and was part of the winning 200-yard medley (1:51.19) relay team as the Aztecs bested Cal Poly in a dual meet (158-81) on January 31.

Following her performance against the Mustangs, Schmied swam to individual victories in the 100 (58.79) and 200-yard butterfly (2:07.20) and was part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:35.94) and second place 200-yard medley relay (1:51.86) teams as San Diego State defeated Fresno State in a dual meet (160-138) on February 1. Her time in the 400 freestyle is a new season best for the Aztecs.

Einfeldt, a product of Salt Lake City, Utah, swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against Utah on January 31. On the 1-meter, she posted a score of 263.25, and her score of 265.88 topped the field on the 3-meter board.
