COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV junior Raluca Udroiu and New Mexico senior Becca Barras have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Udroiu is a two-time award winner, while Barras is awarded for the third consecutive week and 15th time in her career.

Udroiu, from Bucharest, Romania, helped the Rebels to a non-conference win over UC Santa Barbara last week, sweeping the backstroke events and helping UNLV to a relay victory. She began the meet swimming the backstroke portion of the 200-yard medley relay, as the Rebels clocked a time of 1:46.76 for the win. Udroiu also was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke (56.85), followed by a victory in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.18). Her time in the 100 back is a MWC season-best, while her time in the 200 back is the third fastest in the league this season.

Barras swept the diving events in the Lobos' non-conference dual meet victory over New Mexico State last week. She turned in a conference season-best point total of 311.10 in the 1-meter dive and a score of 365.55 in the 3-meter. Barras now holds the top point total in the 1-meter and 3-meter board, scoring 484.15 at the Texas Invitational earlier this season.
