CSU Swimming & Diving Rounds Out MWC Schedule Against Wyoming
The Colorado State women's swimming and diving team (5-3) will look to
close out its 2005 Mountain West schedule on a high note when they host
the Wyoming Cowgirls in Moby Pool Friday evening. The Rams suffered
back-to-back losses to Utah and BYU at home in January but will be
looking to tune things up in one of their last duals before the Mountain
West Championships later this month. Wyoming enters the meet with a 3-4
overall record and a mark of 2-3 in MWC action.
Ram Recap: BYU 169, Colorado State 131
The Colorado State swimming and diving team (5-3, 3-3 MWC) dropped its
second-straight Mountain West dual with a 169-131 setback to BYU on
Saturday afternoon at Moby Pool.
The Rams collected victories in five events including both relays during
the day. CSU's 200 medley relay team of Amy Abrams, Lyndsey McCaslin,
Rachelle Kula and Elizabeth Jones won the event in a time of 1:47.56
while the Rams' 200 freestyle relay of Karin Knudson, Brette Winegarner,
Tara Staley and Jones won in a time of 1:37.34.
Individually, CSU's McCaslin claimed first in the 100 breaststroke
(1:06.01) while Rachelle Kula and Chandra Engs won in the 100 butterfly
(58.93) and 200 IM (2:11.87), respectively. Engs also finished second in
the 200 freestyle (1:56.90) while Jones added to her two relay victories
with a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle (53.99).
