COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV sophomore Madalina Tin and Wyoming junior Wendy O'Connell were named the Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for their performances last week.

Tin, a native of Bucharest, Romania, recorded season-highs in three different events as UNLV defeated San Diego State, Fresno State and Air Force this past weekend. Her time of 57.80 in the 100 Fly earned her a first-place finish and ranks sixth in the league this year. Tin also swam a time of 1:06.02 in the 100 Breast and 52.75 in the 100 Free. Both marks rank fifth in the Mtn. West this season.

O'Connell, a junior from Evanston, Wyo., swept the 1-Meter and 3-Meter Diving competitions this past weekend as the host Cowgirls defeated Colorado State 122-121 for the first time in the series history. Her marks of 267.30 in the 1-Meter and 268.575 in the 3-Meter were both career-highs. O'Connell also qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with her performance in the 1-Meter.
