Colorado Springs, Colo. - UNLV juniors Jacint Simon and Lucas Richmond have been named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively.

Against Air Force Jan. 27, Simon swam to a pair of first-place finishes. In the 500-yard freestyle, he finished at 4:34.85. He also swam to his second best time of the season at 9:30.47 in the 1000-yard freestyle. The native of Kecskemet, Hungary, currently holds the runner-up spot in both events in the conference this season. The Rebels are ranked No. 26 in the nation.

Richmond, the sole UNLV diver of the week award winner this season, earned a first-place and second-place award against Air Force Jan. 27. On the 1-meter springboard, the Ft. Collins, Colo., native posted a score of 246.45, good for first-place. On the 3-meter, he finished second with a score of 198.82.

Up Next: Air Force hosts UNLV, Wyoming and five non-conference schools at the Air Force Diving Invitational, Feb. 2-3 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The other MWC schools are off preparing for the Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, Feb. 14-17, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
