COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU sophomore Mark Chay and Air Force freshman Davey Greer have been named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Chay is a two-time career weekly award winner, while Greer is a first-time honoree.

Chay, a native of Singapore, had two individual victories and a second place finish, while helping the Cougars' 200-yard medley relay team to a second place finish in last week's dual meet win over No. 22 Hawaii. He won the 100-yard freestyle (45.62) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:50.91), while finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke (49.72). He also helped the 200 medley squad clock in a time of 1:32.18 for a second place finish. Chay's times in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke are tops in the MWC this season, while his time in the 100 freestyle is 0.01 seconds off his MWC-season best.

Greer, a Rio Rancho, N.M., product, swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events vs. UNLV and Denver last week. In the Falcons' conference dual meet win over the Rebels, he turned in scores of 228.83 in the 1-meter and 248.63 in the 3-meter. Against Denver, he had a career-best score of 264.15 in the 1-meter dive and notched a score of 259.50 in the 3-meter dive. Both of his point totals vs. the Pioneers rank third on the conference season-best times list.
