UNLV's Short Named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week

Sophomore owns the fastest time in the 100 Freestyle in the conference. (1/26)

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV's Michael Short has been named the Mountain West Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance last weekend.

Short, a sophomore from San Jose, Calif., won the 100 Freestyle with a time of 45.99 in UNLV's 133-128 dual-meet loss against UC Santa Barbara. He finished second in the 50 Free competition with a time of 21.05. Short ranks first in the Mountain West Conference in the 100 Free with a time of 44.97, set on Nov. 12, and is currently second in the 50 Free with a time of 20.92, set on Dec. 18. This is his first Mountain West Conference Swimmer of the Week award.
