New Mexico's Colburn and Air Force's Law Earn MWC Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors Law garners honor for the fourth time this season.

Colorado Springs, Colo. - University of New Mexico junior Sandra Colburn and Air Force Academy sophomore Sarah Law have been selected as the Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Colburn earned three first-place finishes in dual competion this past weekend. Against Denver Jan. 19, she set a season and personal best in the 1000-yard freestyle with at time of 10:33.13. This time is also currently the eighth fastest in the conference this season. The next day, in a double dual meet against Wyoming and Air Force, the Ontario, Canada, native won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.38 and the 1000-yard freestyle at 10:44.53. Carson is a first time swimmer of the week award winner this season. Law, a four time diver of the week award winner, racked up three first-place finishes and a second-place award this past weekend. Against New Mexico State and Northern Colorado Jan. 19, the Parker, Colo., native swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events with scores of 254.00 and 284.00, respectively. The next day, against conference rivals New Mexico and Wyoming, Law placed first on the 1-meter board with a score of 278.75. On the 3-meter, she missed first place by less than three points with a score of 249.05. Prior to this meet, Law had placed first on the 3-meter in every competition. Up Next: New Mexico hosts Utah Jan. 26 before traveling to New Mexico State Jan. 27. Air Force travels to UNLV to compete with San Diego State, Jan. 27.
