COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU's Erica Tate and Utah's Kelsey Patterson have been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. It marks the second weekly honor for Tate and the sixth for Patterson, including her fourth this season.

Tate, a junior from Grapevine, Texas, posted two first place and one second-place finish in dual meets at Utah and BYU last week. In addition, she was a member of two winning relay teams and one runner-up squad. Against Utah, she won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.47, marking her best time of the year and the ninth best time in the MWC this season. She placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.47) and was a member of the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:32.29). In the dual meet at BYU, Tate won the 50 free (24.08). In addition, she was a member of the first-place 400 free relay (3:33.51) and second-place 400-yard medley relay (3:58.73) teams.

Patterson, a junior from Edmonton, Alta., won all three diving events she competed in against New Mexico and TCU last week. Patterson tallied 312.22 points in the 1-meter against New Mexico, 29.10 points ahead of second place. The 312.22 points are the top mark in the MWC this season. Patterson also competed in the 3-meter against New Mexico as an exhibition. Against TCU, Patterson tallied 294.30 points in the 1-meter, 19.66 points ahead of second place. In the 3-meter, Patterson scored 327.90 points, 15.45 points more than second place.
