COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State sophomore Heather DeFelice and BYU senior Rachel Smith Kunkel were named the Mountain West Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for their performances last week.

DeFelice, a native of Culver City, Calif., captured first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke in the Aztecs’ dual-meet victories against Utah and Loyola Marymount, Jan. 6. At the UC Irvine Distance and Individual Relays competition, Jan. 8, DeFelice recorded SDSU’s fastest time of the year and fourth best all time in the 200 Individual Medley, good for sixth place in the competition.
