COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force’s Matt Ihlenfeld was named Mountain West Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week for his performance last weekend in the Falcons’ 116-89 victory over visiting Georgia Tech on Jan. 8. With the win, Air Force improved to 5-1 in dual meets this season.

Ihlenfeld, a junior from Naperville, Ill., earned first place in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:05.32. He is the school’s all-time record holder in the event. In addition, Ihlenfeld swam on the victorious 400-Medley Relay team which produced a time of 3:28.33. Ihlenfeld also holds the Academy’s all-time mark in the 100 Breast, set late last year at the Minnesota Invitational.

Air Force returns to the pool when it hosts a pair of dual meets. The Falcons will face BYU on Friday, Jan. 13, and Utah on Sat., Jan. 14.
