COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior Damian Storz has been named Mountain West Conference men's swimmer of the week.

Storz, a Woodlands, Calif., native, brought home two first place finishes and a second place finish in last weekend's Irvine Invitationals in Irvine, Calif. Storz posted victories in the 1650-yard freestyle (16:18.33) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.15) and concluded his weekend by turning in a season-best time of 53.07 in the 100-yard butterfly. This is his second swimmer of the week award in a row and third of the season.

The Cowboys return to action on Thursday, Jan. 24, as they welcome Utah to Corbett Pool for a dual meet.

This week in the MWC: The Air Force Academy plays host to the BYU Cougars in a dual meet set for Saturday, Jan. 12, while UNLV travels to Honolulu to take on Hawaii in a dual meet, also on Jan. 12. Utah will also be in action this week as they take on Washington in a dual meet on Fri. Jan. 11 in Federal Way, Wash.
