COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV junior Jessica Heim and San Diego State junior Anna Steiner have earned Mountain West Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors, respectively, for meets contested from Jan. 4-7, 2013. It is the second MW honor for Heim this season and the fourth of her career. It is the first Conference weekly accolade for Steiner. Heim, a native of San Diego, Calif., won three individual events and swam a winning relay to lead the Rebels to a pair of dual meet victories against Fresno State (168-126) and CSU Bakersfield (188-96) on Jan. 5. Heim won the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle events with times of 5:05.26 and 10:33.17, respectively. She added a victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.22. Heim also swam the anchor leg of the Rebels' 400-yard freestyle relay that recorded a first-place time of 3:31.36. Steiner, who hails from Seattle, Wash., captured first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in the Aztecs' 67-58 dual win over Tulane on Jan. 7. Steiner recorded a career-high score of 281.25 on the 1-meter board and a season-best 301.65 on the 3-meter board. Both marks qualify Steiner for the NCAA Diving Zones in March.
