BYU Season Wraps Up after Final Day of NCAA's
March 23, 2004
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Brittany Davis missed qualifying for the finals in the 200 backstroke (2:12.86) by just over one second on the final day of the women's NCAA championships at Texas A&M University on Saturday. "It was a really nice swim," coach Stan Crump said. "2:12 would have advanced her to the finals last year, but this year it was just short of a qualifying time." Davis finished up her stellar freshman season with 11 individual victories during the dual meet season and a pair of individual MWC titles. Crump said although she didn't make it into the finals in any of her events, she gained valuable experience that she can use at next year's championships.
Next week three members of the 19th ranked men's swimming and diving team-Diogo Yabe, Zach Anderson and Justin Beardall-will travel to Long Island, N.Y. for the men's NCAA swimming and diving championships.
