Kevin Bretting concluded his college diving career in style by placing 22nd in the platform diving event at the 2007 NCAA Championships, Saturday afternoon at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

"This was a great day for Kevin," said UW diving coach Ben Herdt. "Kevin put together a very nice platform round today. Every other diver in this field has access to a platform board and uses it almost every day. For Kevin to place 22nd and compete in the best field in the nation without having a platform to practice on at all during his career is simply amazing."

Bretting, a senior from Loveland, Colo., dove to a score of 249.75 to earn 22nd place. His score was a cumulative mark from six dives and was higher than five other divers in the 27 man field.

"This was a very good experience for Kevin and I am so proud of him," added Herdt. "Both of us learned a great deal and this step that Kevin took will do great things for the future of Wyoming diving."
