The Colorado State Swimming and Diving team concluded its season today at the Mountain West Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Rams finished in fourth place with 489 points. UNLV captured its first-ever MWC Championship with 839 points, thus marking the first time BYU has not won the championship in Mountain West history.

The Cougars finished in second place with 745.50 points followed by Wyoming with 592 points.

Junior Elizabeth Jones was the Rams' top performer today. Jones finished third in the finals of the 100 free, with a time of 51.53, thus making her an all-conference performer. Alison McInturff of Utah won the event with at time of 50.86.

In the 200 backstroke Brette Winegarner placed eighth with a time of 2:07.44 in the finals. Amy Abrams placed 10th, at 2:04.83. Alyson Aggers finished eighth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:23.74. Senior Lyndsey McCaslin was 10th with a time of 2:21.47.

The Rams had two swimmers in the finals of the 200 butterfly. Sara Servold and Abigail Iler finished in fifth and seventh, respectively.

Taylor Felton swam well in the 1650 freestyle. The junior placed sixth, posting a time of 17:19.29. Sarah DeLapp and Celes Parks finished in 10th and 11th in the event, respectively.

In the only relay event of the day, the 400 free relay, the team of Jones, Winegarner, Felton and Chandra Engs placed fifth with a time of 3:30.09. UNLV won the relay posting a time of 3:24.80.

Colorado State finishes its season with a duel record of 5-5. The NCAA Championships will be held March 17-19 in West Lafayette, Ind.
