OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Utah leads the men's and women's field with 104 and 105 points, respectively, after day one at the Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Oklahoma City Community College.

BYU trails the Utes in men's action with 94 points, followed by Wyoming (92), TCU (87), UNLV (80) and Air Force (78). The Cougar women hold the No. 2 spot in the women's events with 94, followed by TCU (77), Colorado State (74), UNLV (71), Wyoming (70), New Mexico (65), Air Force (45) and San Diego State (44).

Day two events begin Thursday, Feb. 22, with preliminary events at 10 a.m. CST and finals competition at 6 p.m. The MWC Swimming & Diving Championships conclude Saturday, Feb. 25, following the 6 p.m. finals events and the announcement of the individual and team awards.

MWC Swimming & Diving Championships Notes:

UNLV captured its sixth men's 200-yard medley relay in seven years (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006) in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:28.32.

The Utah women set a new MWC all-time record in the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.21). The Utes won their first 200 medley title as members of the MWC after finishing no higher than third in the previous six years.

Utah's Sterling Richards collected his first 1-meter diving crown after finishing as the runner-up in the 2004 and 2005 championship.

UNLV won its first men's 800-yard freestyle team title since the 2001 in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6:34.05. The victory is the second for the Rebel men overall as members of the league.

BYU won its first-ever women's 800-yard freestyle title in 7:19.69. The Cougars' time is the second fastest in MWC history.
