OKLAHOMA CITY - Three-time defending conference champion BYU leads the men's field with 342 points after day two at the Mountain West Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at Oklahoma City Community College. UNLV, in search of its first conference crown since 1992, leads the women with 251 points.
UNLV trails the Cougars in men's action with 195 points, followed by Wyoming (177), Air Force (168) and Utah (162). The Rams hold the No. 2 spot in the women's events with 241 points, followed by BYU (215.50), Utah (188), New Mexico (181), Air Force (145.50), Wyoming (139) and San Diego State (78).
Day three events begin Friday, Feb. 21, with preliminary events at 10 a.m. CST and finals competition at 6 p.m. The MWC Swimming & Diving Championships conclude Saturday, Feb. 22, following the 6 p.m. finals events and the announcement of the individual and team awards.

UNLV sophomore Jonathan Hugo (Calremint, South Africa) set a new Mountain West Conference and school record in the men's 50-yard freestyle with a time of 19.74. The previous record was 19.84 by Piotr Krzyskow in 2001.
BYU junior Randy Belliston (Magna, Utah) set a new Mountain West Conference and school record in the men's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:47.44. The previous record was 1:49.42 by Gary Tan in 2001.
Colorado State junior Kristen Schneider (Regina, SK, Canada) set a new Mountain West Conference and school record in the women's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:01.34. The previous MWC record was 2:02.63 by Lorena Diaconescu (UNLV) in 2002. The previous CSU record was 2:03.84 by Schneider in 2002.
UNLV set a new MWC record in the men's 400-yard medley relay (3:14.88). The Rebels captured their second title in the event in four years (2000 and 2003).
