Now in his seventh season at Air Force, Jeff Reynolds has presided over the Falcon program since 2007-08. Last season, Air Force bounced back from consecutive 10-21 campaigns with a 16-16 record and its first postseason berth in four years. During Reynolds' two years as an assistant, the Falcons registered two of the most successful campaigns in program history, combining for a 50-16 record, one NCAA Tournament appearance and a visit to Madison Square Garden for the semifinals of the NIT.

Keys to Success
A trio of Falcons who gained valuable playing time as freshmen during an injury-plagued 2009-10 campaign are now seasoned veterans with a combined 135 starts under their belts. Heading up this junior triumverate is all-MW guard Michael Lyons, the league's top returning scorer (13.7 ppg) from a year ago. Lyons has added 20 pounds to his 6-6 frame and is expected to be more of a defensive force for the Falcons in 2011-12. Junior Todd Fletcher (2.8 apg) returns to run the point, while Taylor Broekhuis (3.4 rpg) is back to patrol the paint. An 11-member freshmen class, the largest of fifth-year head coach Jeff Reynolds' tenure, should provide the Falcons additional depth down the stretch.
By the Numbers
20 - Number of career 3-pointers made by center Taylor Broekhuis.
32 - Number of starts by point guard Todd Fletcher as a sophomore, the only non-senior to start every game for the Falcons last season.
39.5 - Last season's 3-point shooting percentage for Mike Fitzgerald, who will be asked to replace graduated sharp-shooter Tom Fow.
Andrea Williams is in her second season leading the Falcon women's basketball squad. In her first season at the Academy, Williams stopped a 40-game losing streak by the Falcons in Mountain West action, winning three Conference games. The team went on to win just its second Mountain West Tournament game with a 66-63 win over Colorado State in the first round.

Keys to Success
With just one senior in defensive standout Jamela Satterfield, the Falcons will be looking for additional leadership from its junior class. Satterfield is among five returning players who started at least 10 games for the Falcons in 2010-11. Dymond James, the first preseason all-Mountain West pick from an Air Force team, has proven to be a tremendous force scoring and in the paint for the Falcons. James and the rest of the junior class, Alicia Leipprandt, Megan Muniz and Katie Hilbig, will be looked to as the example for 11 sophomores and freshmen as they get ready for life on and off the court at the Academy. Air Force will be tested early with nine road games, including trips to Minnesota and Alabama. Andrea Williams hopes the non-conference season will give her upperclassmen time to continue improving and give the underclassmen a chance to step up and prove themselves on the court.
