New Mexico baseball student-athletes Mitchell Garver and D.J. Peterson have been named semifinalists for two national awards this week. Garver, a junior catcher, is one of 12 semifinalists for the 2012 Johnny Bench Award presented by BaseballSavings.com as announced by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission on Wednesday, May 16. ...
Boise State's Tara Glover, Colorado State's Kacie McCarthy, New Mexico's Jesseica Garcia and Stefanie Carramusa, and San Diego State's Hayley Miles have been honored as All-Region selections by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
New Mexico defeated Air Force, 22-4, in the only Mountain West baseball action on Thursday, May 17. Final regular season action continues on Friday between the Falcons and Lobos and the start of the San Diego State at No. 20 TCU series. UNLV will be in non-conference action at Sacramento State.
