SERIES NOTES
The road team has won the last five meetings in the series between New Mexico and BYU, including the Cougars' come-from-behind 27-24 win last year in Albuquerque. Overall in Provo, BYU holds a 20-6 record against the Lobos dating back to 1952. BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall was the Lobos' defensive coordinator under current UNM head coach Rocky Long from 1998-2002.

TCU took the inaugural meeting with San Diego State last year in San Diego, 23-20. The Horned Frogs rallied with a go-ahead score early in the fourth quarter and an interception in the end zone to overcome the Aztecs late in the fourth quarter. TCU running back Robert Merrill led the way last year for the Horned Frogs, carrying 29 times for a season-high 170 yards and two touchdowns.

Utah has taken the last three metings after losing three in a row to Air Force from 2000-02. In 2003, the last game played at the Academy, the Utes won a 45-43 triple-overtime thriller. Overall, the Falcons hold a 7-3 lead in Colorado Springs. The winning team in the last five games in the series has scored 30 or more points. In four of the five games the winner has notched 35 or more points.
