PROVO, Utah - After stamping out Stanford 5-0 on Saturday night, the BYU women's soccer team moves on to the third round in the NCAA soccer championships. The No. 8-ranked Cougars will next take on No. 24-ranked Santa Clara on home turf Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m.

Although the rankings make the game sound like a Cougar victory is imminent, BYU's past experiences with Santa Clara lurk in the minds of both coach and players.

In three of the past four years, BYU and Santa Clara have met in the postseason and in each of those years the Broncos have been BYU's ticket to the sidelines.

But Cougar coach Jennifer Rockwood wouldn't have it any other way.

Santa Clara's 2-0 defeat of previously No. 8-ranked California was a bit of a tournament upset, making it possible for BYU to score the advantage of playing yet another tournament game at home.

But BYU isn't totally advantaged tournament-wise.

The winner of Saturday's match-up will advance to the NCAA quarterfinals, and take on the winner of No. 1 Notre Dame versus unranked Harvard.
