Phillips 66 Signs On As Title Sponsor of the Mountain West Conference Basketball and Baseball Championships Through 2010

NEW YORK -


Phillips 66 has signed a multi-year, multi-media deal to be the title sponsor of the Mountain West Conference men's and women's basketball and baseball championships, it was announced today.  The deal, which runs through the 2010 season, was created and negotiated by CSTV, which is the exclusive marketing rights holder of the MWC.  During that term, the championships will be named PHILLIPS 66 MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS and PHILLIPS 66 MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships will be held at UNLV's Thomas and Mack Center and the Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Baseball Championship will be held at the Lupton Baseball Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field at TCU

The multi-media package includes:

  • Public address announcements, video board messaging, arena/stadium signage, on court and on field logos, seat back covers, ads in official tournament scorecards and programs as well as rotating Dorna signage.
  • The Phillips 66 Move of the Game, during which a fan in the upper section of the Thomas and Mack Center is moved into the lower section during the basketball tournaments.
  • Regular season advertising during conference football, basketball and baseball games on CSTV, The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network and VERSUS as well as a media schedule on CSTV.com and its network of 215 official collegiate athletic web sites, including the official web sites of all nine Mountain West Conference institutions and the Official Athletic Site of the MWC.
  • A full regular season promotion schedule including mentions in all television, radio, online, print and on-site marketing efforts.
THE WINNING SHOT RETURNS
As part of the deal, The Winning Shot returns on CSTV.com. The online basketball game, created and produced for ConocoPhillips, gives college sports fans the chance to win gas certificates each day and one of three grand-prize all-expense-paid trips to NCAA Division I conference basketball championship tournaments including the Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships.

ConocoPhillips' brands - Phillips 66, 76 and Conoco - will be the Mountain West Conference's exclusive partner in the motor fuel category.
