RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate Athletic Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies designed to maximize revenue from ticket sales of Athletic events. The incumbent will oversee and supervise the Ticket Office, Corporate Sales, and the Director of Ticket Sales. Develop and distribute high quality printed materials including ticket brochures, schedule cards, posters, and flyers. Develop and approve all season, sport, and game promotions, advertising, media trades, and collateral designed to enhance ticket sales at events. Negotiate and coordinate all contractual advertising and donated media. Coordinate and supervise marketing volunteers, students, and interns. Work with Senior Woman Administrator to market women's sports. Work within the university and externally to access potential ticket holders. Speak before various constituents and establish activities that will promote attendance at athletic events. Coordinate community outreach efforts through visits to schools, businesses, hospitals, non-profit organizations, and youth organizations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of marketing practices for collegiate and/or professional sports. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Working knowledge of university policies and procedures, conference, and NCAA regulations. Excellent organizational, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership and public speaking skills. Ability to work in a team setting with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, and university constituents. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple functions and make decisions under pressure.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years full-time experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing. Master's degree preferred. Familiarity with San Diego market, the Mountain West Conference, and the NCAA preferred.
