Oct. 20, 2004 ATHLETICS: Announcement No. 2411 This position is in the Management Personnel Plan and earns management benefits. SALARY: Commensurate with education, experience, skills, and abilities. San Diego State University, founded in 1897, is one of 23 campuses of the California State University system. SDSU enrolls more than 33,000 students and offers more than 150 degree programs. The campus employs approximately 4,000 faculty and staff. The campus is located on 270 acres approximately 15 miles east of downtown San Diego and contains over 8.0 million square feet of academic and support facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent reports to the Compliance Director and is involved with all areas of the compliance program, including rules education, recruiting, interpretation, policy enhancement and creation, and monitoring compliance systems. Duties of the compliance office include creation of procedures; monitoring of recruiting, awards, employment, financial aid and special funds, playing/practice seasons, campus policy, and camps; drafting waiver requests for conference or NCAA consideration; administering NCAA and institution-required eligibility forms to teams; managing rosters; interpretation of NCAA rules; and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Must have a minimum of five years of experience in intercollegiate athletics. Must have a demonstrated knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations.
