SERIES NOTES:
Navy has a three-game win streak against Air Force, capturing each of those contests by three points. Since the beginning of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy series in 1972, the Falcons hold a 22-12 overall lead, including a 14-4 record at home against Navy. Prior to the Midshipmen's current three-game win streak, Air Force had won six straight and 19 of the last 21 games dating back to 1982.
San Diego State defeated BYU last year at home, 31-10. The Cougars have taken four of the last five meetings between the two schools, including the past two in Provo. BYU is looking for its first conferenece home opening win since 2001.
In five of the past six meetings, the outcome of the Colorado State/UNLV contest has been decided by four points or less, including a 31-27 Ram win last year in Las Vegas. The series is tied four games apiece in Fort Collins, yet the Rebels have never defeated CSU in Las Vegas.
VOLLEYBALL:
BYU junior outside hitter Chelsea Goodmanearned MWC Volleyball Player of the Week, marking her first award of the season and third of her career.Goodman, a Mesa, Ariz., native, led the Cougars to conference wins over San Diego State and UNLV last week.
TCU went 1-1 in conference play last week, defeating Air Force and losing to Colorado State. The Horned Frogs win over the Falcons marked their first-ever road conference win as members of the MWC
