FORT COLLINS, Colo. - National Collegiate Athletic Assn.
(NCAA) officials announced the appointment of Jeffrey Hathaway, Colorado
State's Director of Athletics to a post on the organization's Division I
Championships/Competition Cabinet.
Hathaway was selected by member institutions of the Mountain West
Conference to represent the league on the cabinet.
In addition to serving on the cabinet, he is one of two new appointees
- along with University of Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley - to
the football certification subcommittee, which reviews application for
bowl games and monitors criteria and legislation related to certified
football contests.
He will also serve on the nominating subcommittee which reviews
nominations for vacancies and makes recommendations to the full
cabinet. Hathaway is one of two new members on the subcommittee, along
with Auburn Director of Athletics David Housel.
"I am honored to have been selected to represent by the member
institutions to represent the Mountain West Conference on the NCAA
Cabinet Committee," said Hathaway. "Colorado State has an outstanding
reputation nationally. I'm pleased to represent the Mountain West
Conference in this national leadership role."
