New York and Sydney, AUS (NSW) - CSTV Networks, Inc., the leading multi-media provider of college sports programming (www.cstv.com), today announced a strategic technology and marketing partnership between its online division and Sportstec Inc., a leading supplier of sports training technology, enabling CSTV to offer Sportstec's innovative coaching tools as part of its portfolio of online services for college athletic departments. Sportstec will also provide CSTV Online services to its college athletics clients.

CSTV will leverage Sportstec's cutting-edge video analysis and editing technology for use in the college sports network's broadband offerings. This will allow CSTV to provide more video to fans, provide conferences with state-of-the-art video sharing services, and deliver valuable tools to collegiate coaches and their staffs. The two companies will work together on the development, marketing and sales of the next generation of coaching and scouting tools, plus other broadband products for coaches, administrators, sports information directors [SIDs], as well as alumni and fans. One key initial area of development will be the integration of CSTV's GameTracker Live statistical product into Sportstec's tools.

According to Brian Bedol, CEO, CSTV, "Sportstec develops the leading coaching and scouting tools in the world. This partnership greatly enhances our ability to serve our university and college partners, providing yet another element in our overall program."

Currently, CSTV partners with more than 200 colleges to provide multimedia and broadband capability for official sports program websites developed and maintained by CSTV. Sportstec currently provides software and services for more than 200 colleges and universities as well as more than 2,000 sports organizations around the world.

"Sportstec is thrilled to have CSTV as a strategic partner. The synergy between our two companies is obvious and will provide great benefit and value to our customers now and well into the future. We are very excited about all of the possibilities this new relationship brings," said Philip Jackson, Sportstec's Managing Director.

Athletic programs welcome this support, and are delighted to see the two companies working together:

Paul Hewitt, Georgia Tech's highly successful men's basketball coach, says, "CSTV and Sportstec are highly respected leaders in their fields. CSTV has handled web services for our athletic department and Tech basketball for a long time and Sportstec provides scouting and coaching tools for my coaches and players. I'm excited that these two companies are joining forces, and they will make a terrific team."

From the Stanford Cardinal, and one of the brightest young men's basketball coaches around, Trent Johnson says, "Stanford Basketball has long benefited from its relationship with Sportstec. We are excited to hear that the same video expertise we enjoy with Sportstec will now be partnered with CSTV. CSTV's effort to integrate video to the web will be a great way for our national fan base to be even more connected with Stanford basketball."

CSTV and Sportstec will collaborate to deliver industry-leading sports solutions including:

  • Assistance to college coaches with game preparation, opponent evaluations and improvement of player skills. The offerings will also allow each conference to evaluate and educate league officials and referees.
  • CSTV will offer athletic conference Intranets for information and "game video" sharing, creating a major cost reduction for the conferences.
  • Game administrators will be better able to evaluate crowd control issues, security concerns and other game management issues.
  • Sports Information Directors can better promote their teams.
  • School marketing directors can use this product as a marketing tool or mechanism to evaluate advertising opportunities at game sites.
