FORT COLLINS - A program aimed at generating additional private support for Colorado State University's student-athlete scholarship fund has now gained its 20th member and passed the $1 million mark entering only the second year of existence.
The Ram Legacy Club members pledge a leadership gift of $10,000
annually for a miniumu of five years. To date, 20 individuals have
enlisted in the Legacy Club and pledged more than $1 million toward the
department's scholarship fund over the next five years.
"It is a very gracious gift that each of the members of the Legacy Club
has pledged toward our department," said Director of Athletics Mark
Driscoll. "Each of the gifts represent a very loyal and passionate
commitment to the entire athletic program. We are encouraged that in
just a year's time we have been able to generate more than $1 million
toward support of scholarships through the Legacy Club program."
Legacy Club members are honored at an annual dinner with coaching staff
members, administrators, and selected student-athletes.
Legacy Club members also receive a gift on behalf of the athletic
deparatment, as well as recognition in the football game program,
honorary membership in one of CSU's sport support clubs, and the
recognition of sponsorship of a student-athlete of the sport of the
donor's choice.
