ASSISTANT COACH - WOMEN'S TENNIS
ATHLETICS

Part-time (hours to be determined) temporary 12-month appointment anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2006.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience, knowledge and skill level.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will assist in organizing and administering appropriate pre-season, season, and post-season programs necessary for a quality Division I Women's Tennis program; assess talent of prospective student-athletes; initiate and maintain communications with prospective student-athletes in line with NCAA and conference regulations; assist with selection of equipment and uniform requests for team; work with Student-Athlete Academic Support relative to eligibility and academic progress of team members; establish conditioning and weight training program for team members; work with team in one-on-one practice sessions; develop and implement practices; on-court coaching during team matches; and make travel arrangements.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Demonstration of ability to work successfully with athletes and University administrators, faculty, staff, students, donors, and boosters. Desire and ability to work within the philosophy of the Department of Athletics, the Mountain West Conference, and the NCAA. Ability to work with college-level athletes as a group and on an individual basis; and ability to motivate students to excel in all areas. Possess proficiency in all aspects of recruiting for a Division I university.
SPECIALIZED REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree preferred. Demonstration of ability in teaching women's tennis skills and fundamentals required. Collegiate coaching and/or Division I experience preferred.
